Physicists Inspiring the Next Generation (PING): Exploring the Nuclear Matter 2019
PING 2019
During the summer of 2019, a pilot program for the “Physicists Inspiring the Next Generation (PING): Exploring the Nuclear Matter” was conducted at the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB)/National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory (NSCL). It consisted of four (all female) high school students from the Hampton City School District, two undergraduate physics majors from Hampton University. Over the course of one week, the students built and tested two parallel plate avalanche chambers (PPACs).
